Silkwood is designed with a quality multi-layer cross-ply construction, providing a stable timber floor with easy installation over many surfaces. Silkwood is pre-finished avoiding the mess and fumes of sanding and finishing. It also has the added convenience of being able to be installed in a matter of hours and walked on immediately.

The entire Silkwood range is made in Australia, from Australian hardwood species by an Australian company, Boral. The Silkwood product is covered by a 25 year warranty - see bottom of page for details!

Grades available

Silkwood is available in two grades. Grades represent the visual characteristics of the timber and are not to be confused with structural qualities.

Australiana Grade
Australiana grade showcases the subtle features, including beautiful variations in colour and grain, of our native Australian hardwoods by highlighting selective gum veins, spirals, burls, insect trails and other natural variations that give timbers floors a unique character. It has been carefully graded to showcase a subtle amount of character and colour differentiation that makes every timber floor unique.

Natural Grade
Natural grade offers a rustic appearance with a high level of natural timber characteristics such as gum veins, spirals, burls, insect trails and other natural variations that give timber floors a unique character as individual as a signature. Natural grade is carefully graded to include the most interesting variations and distinctive timber markings to enhance the look of a timber floor. Natural grade may also include some coating imperfections and mechanical features such as saw burns marks that add even more character to a natural grade floor. (Silkwood Natural Grade products are subject to availability)

Quality Assurance
Silkwood comes with a 25-year domestic surface and structural warranty. Boral warrants that under normal conditions and with proper maintenance the coating on the Silkwood range will not wear through to expose the raw timber layer underneath.

Scratches and reduction in gloss are not covered by the surface warranty. The structural warranty covers Silkwood for warping, buckling, delamination, twisting or other forms of structural deformation of any board within a residential floor as the result of a manufacturing fault or other forms of structural deformation under normal conditions provided that the product installation complies with Boral Timber Flooring installation guidelines. Please refer to the Silkwood warranty brochure for full details.
